Bond's Office [All Day Saturday]

Given how organised he kept his files, it had been the work of minutes for Bond to get his notes on his students ready. While none of them were laid out where prying eyes could see them, they were all close at hand for if and when they were needed.

Satisfied with his arrangements, he opened his office door and propped it open.

"I feel vaguely insulted." Not really.

"That's a shame." Derek was so obviously concerned.

Terribly so. "I expect I'll have to challenge you to fisticuffs at dawn or something now."

He wasn't quite sure what 'fisticuffs' were, but he generally got the idea. "If you feel the need."

"Or we could just talk about how Kyle is doing," Bond suggested. "Much less violent option that."

There was a hint of a smile at the mention of his brother, and Derek nodded. "More interesting too. He still your TA?"

Bond nodded. "My only one since my other graduated. He also asked me to supervise a school club he recently started."

"The Parkour club," he commented. "He told me about that. Sounds like it's his thing."

"There's only been the one meeting so far, but he was quite quite good at organising it."

Derek couldn't help snorting a little at the comment. "It's a club. I hope the kid can manage it."

Bond grinned. "And not turn into a power hungry megalomaniac in the process."

"Not Kyle," Derek said instantly. "He knows what happens next."

"Which is why I trust him to run my class if I can't be there," Bond said. "You should be very proud of him." Not that he thought Derek wasn't already.

He gave the short nod that would have been a broad grin in most any other man. "Never not been. Glad he's got this time."

Bond nodded. "I'm going to miss him when he graduates."

"There's going to be a lot he misses," Derek said by way of agreement.

"I'm sure he won't miss only being able to see you on weekends like this though," Bond said, smiling.

He gave a bark of a chuckle. "I'll be happy to have my lieutenant back. Even if I wish he could stay out of danger."

Bond's smile turned an odd combination of wry and grim. "If he can't avoid it, I can at least do my best in the meantime to ensure he knows some more ways to get out of it."

"That's why he was sent here," Derek acknowledged. "Need every new idea we can find."
