Bond's office heating had broken for the umpteenth time. Really, he was starting to just expect this to happen at the worst possible times.

Hopefully he'd be able to get it fixed before tomorrow and any guests would decide to postpone visiting until then, but he had a responsibility to be here regardless.

"Really, Bond?"

Really? With the shirtlessness? Sarah was judging.

Which was rich coming from a woman who'd managed to bust the heating in her own apartment twice this week with her powers and frustration, but still.

"I wish I could blame this week," Bond said, with a noticeable lack of shame, even with the judging. He was used to M's judging, she was a champion judger. "But it's not the first time this has happened."

"You need to get that fixed, mate," Sarah rasped, leaning against the door frame. "Think of the children."

Okay, that bit was sarcasm, and she wasn't managing to think about the children in the presence of his chest. Not that she really managed that at the best of time, anyway.

Bond rather thought not thinking of the children would be a better idea this week. Instead he could think of much more interesting people.

"I did, it keeps breaking. Usually this time of year." He suspected that wasn't really coincidental.

"There is no fucking way that's a coincidence," Sarah agreed with his narrative. "No fucking way. The island is way too much of a pain in the arse for that."

"And it's apparently stepped up its game this time," Bond said. "Like we needed parents to experience this first hand?"

"I don't know, personally I'm hoping to at least see some mortification from the kiddies concerning parental hook-ups once this is over."

Probably because she was a bad person and wanted everyone to suffer, because she was suffering.

Bond chuckled, because he could also be a horrible person.

"I suspect tomorrow's radio will be worth listening to."

"And I bloody well hope I'll be able to focus on laughing at it by then."

Because.

His chest was distracting.

"Would you care for a drink?"

Because they both deserved one if they had to deal with students and parents today.

Well, that got her out of the doorway and actually into the room.

"Thought you'd never ask, mate."

Drinking was exactly what was needed here.

Bond found alcohol to be a solution to many of the problems violence couldn't fix.

"Do you have a preference?" He asked because it was totally normal to have the equivalent of a liquor cabinet in your desk.

And yet Sarah only had tea in hers. Clearly she'd gone wrong here somewhere.

"I really honestly do not care."

"Vodka, then." Vodka went with everything.

He took a pair of tumblers out from his drawers and poured a generous measure in each, before offering her one.

Sarah accepted it gratefully. Or her approximation thereof.

"My kind of man."

"Great minds and all that," Bond said, saluting her with his glass.

"Cheers."

"Cheers," Sarah agreed, before pretty much knocking her drink back all in one go because reasons.

Related to a need for alcohol.

Bond could hardly blame her. It was a week for needing alcohol.

"Another?" He asked after finishing his own glass in a similar amount of time.

"Oh, you know it."

Hey, maybe they could be drunk by the time any parents wandered around here.

That was an excellent plan, if Bond's narrative might say so.

He refilled their glasses. "So, do you have your lies prepared about how normal an education the children are getting?"

Sarah snorted, shaking her head. "They don't pay me enough to lie. At least not convincingly. If I happen to not hate the kid, I might be convinced to try and spin my class into something that's not just smashing shit up... But nah, probably not even that."

Bond was teaching his students to be better poker players, so he was in no position to judge. "There's always the possibility they'll be too distracted to ask."

"Or maybe I'll mortify the kidlets some more and shag a hot dad."

It was about 50/50 on whether she'd have said that without the pollen and the vodka.

Bond laughed. "Always a chance of that."

Not that he set out to charm them...okay, he totally set out to charm them.

Sarah took a thoughtful sip from her glass, then shrugged a shoulder.

"Or I could just shag you and ignore them altogether."

He'd hardly turn that offer down even without the pollen.

"If that's your desire, I'd be more than happy to assist." Look, he was even halfway (un)dressed for it.

"God, you're so English." Look who was talking. She knocked back the rest of her drink before setting the empty glass on his desk. "Okay then."

"One moment." Bond went to shut the door because no one needed a show.

He came back to her side of the desk. "Now, where were we?"

Oh, right, the door. That had probably been a good call.

But Sarah thought stepping closer to kiss him was a pretty good idea on her part too. Also, a better response than any words would have been.

Bond considered that an excellent response. So excellent in fact, that he pressed in closer against her, with an aim of backing her towards the desk.

She could definitely do that. Without much stumbling, even. And even if she'd stumbled, well, that was what her hand on his arm was for.

But she didn't stumble. Kept kissing him, too.

Co-ordination and the ability to multi-task were always pluses in Bond's book.

Now that he had her up against the desk, he smoothed his hands down her sides to rest on her hips, his thumbs rubbing slow circles as he deepened the kiss further.

That was good. Sarah approved of the touching. Her own hands got flattened against his chest, traveling down. Hey, it was there and it was bare. She would've been crazy not to do it.

Also, it'd been a while since she'd kissed anyone, so she was approving of the deepening of the kiss too. And giving as good as she got.

It had been longer than Bond cared to admit, but sex pollen or no, he wasn't a teenager any more. So he was quite prepared to take his time about this and do it properly.

Sarah was going to be fine with that. Now that she wasn't blowing up her electronics in frustration or pining for some arsehole who'd left her to be a hero in outer space, she was more than fine taking her time enjoying herself. Especially when it was with someone so fit who tasted enticingly like booze.

Yes, she was going to be just fine here.
