After spending the day at the gallery, Bond was leading Jules back to the house. He had less of a death-grip on the lad's shoulder than before.

He considered that a good sign.

"Let me," Bond murmured, bending to separate and pick them up bodily.

"Stop it, now!"

"Thank you," Aravis said, sincerely.

RJ, amazingly, did in fact stop it.

Jules quieted, still glaring at RJ. "Da! He started it."

"Did not!" RJ argued, glaring.

Bond gave them both a very gentle shake. "I don't care who started it," he said flatly. "Neither of you had to continue it."

"RJ, we are going home right now and you're not getting dessert after supper," Aravis told him. "Wait until your father hears."

"But Mom!"

"Don't 'But Mom' me. You've behaved reprehensibly and you're going to think about what you did."

"Yes, Mom."

"If Mr. Bond sets you down, will you come along with me without fighting, or do I need to carry you?"

"Mom, I'm nine." RJ sounded horrified.

"Don't act like you're five, then," she said coolly.

"Yes Mom," RJ mumbled.

"Say you're sorry."

"I'm sorry," Rj mumbled, even less distinctly.

Aravis sighed, and then gestured to Bond to let him down.

Bond carefully put RJ down. "Now you Jules."

A contrite sounding murmur came from Jules's direction.

Aravis just grabbed for RJ's hand before they could fight again. "Now say good evening."

"Good evening," RJ parroted sullenly.

And with that, Aravis whistled to Ata, and proceeded to drag RJ back towards the dorm.

"As for you," Bond told Jules, not even bothering to put him down as he headed towards the house. "Your mother would be so ashamed of you."
